Hole #1

Hole #1

A friendly par-5 defined by elevation change. The downhill tee shot is a major boost; but the steep uphill approach can add up to 2 clubs to your distance. The first green is one of the largest on the course; the front half is well-guarded by a severe false front.

Blue – 457
White – 443
Gold – 365
Red – 363
Silver – 363

Men’s Handicap: 5
Women’s Handicap: 3

Hole #2

Hole #2

This par-3 demands accuracy. The green is split into front and back halves by a large central swale. Short and right is met by a deep bunker. Be mindful of the Out-of-Bounds that runs along the left and behind the green.

Blue – 193
White – 168
Gold – 159
Red – 153
Silver – 153

Men’s Handicap: 13
Women’s Handicap: 13

Hole #3

Hole #3

The second and longest par-5 on the course features a severe downhill tee shot to a sloping fairway. Longer hitters may find the hole reachable in two, but a second shot over Jackson Run will leave a short iron into the green. The tiered green puts a premium on club selection when playing your approach.

White – 546
Gold – 498
Red – 489
Silver – 412

Men’s Handicap: 1
Women’s Handicap: 1

Hole #4

Hole #4

Aim for Jackson Valley’s entrance sign from the tee to find yourself in one of the narrower fairways on the course. An approach shot to the middle of the green is the safest way to handle its turtle-back shape.

Blue – 400
White – 387
Gold – 346
Red – 342
Silver – 283

Men’s Handicap: 9
Women’s Handicap: 7

Hole #5

Hole #5

The fifth hole at JVGC is arguably the most difficult par-4 on the front. The tall pines at the corner of the dogleg hide the flagstick from view on the tee. A well-struck drive over the bunker will shorten the hole and allow a clear line of sight to the green.

Blue – 441
White – 432
Gold – 302
Red – 302
Silver – 302

Men’s Handicap: 11
Women’s Handicap: 9

Hole #6

Hole #6

Number 6 at JVGC is the second, and most challenging, par-3 on the course. While this is the longest par-3 on the course, the length of hole is hardly its biggest obstacle. Three zones of the green provide a variety of options for hole locations ranging from very simple to extremely challenging.

Blue – 224
White – 189
Gold – 173
Red – 156
Silver – 156

Men’s Handicap: 7
Women’s Handicap: 11

Hole #7

Hole #7

The members at JVGC affectionately refer to this short par-4 as “Cardiac Hill.” The severe upslope significantly lengthens the hole and makes the tee shot visually intimidating. Players that can knock one into the widest part of the fairway will have little more than a wedge into the bean-shaped green.

Blue – 262
White – 251
Gold – 190
Red – 153
Silver – 153

Men’s Handicap: 17
Women’s Handicap: 17

Hole #8

Hole #8

This short, downhill par-3 has the appearance of being straightforward. However, the green slopes significantly back-to-front and left-to-right. Tee shots long and to the left will leave players glad to make a bogey as they make their way to the 9th hole.

Gold – 123
Red – 123
Silver – 123

Men’s Handicap: 15
Women’s Handicap: 15

Hole #9

Hole #9

The 9th hole at Jackson Valley is a dogleg left with a risk/reward tee shot. The green is not visible from the tee, so take care not to play at the 18th fairway. At 240 yards to carry the stream running through the fairway, those who can cross off the tee will be left with just a wedge into the green.

Blue – 384
White – 384
Gold – 319
Red – 319
Silver – 319

Men’s Handicap: 3
Women’s Handicap: 5

Hole #10

Hole #10

The back-9 starts out with a slight mirror of the front. A downhill tee shot leading to an uphill approach and a green with a false front make the tenth hole a familiar challenge to frequent players of Jackson Valley. Be sure to favor the left side of the fairway to give yourself a chance at reaching the green in two.

Blue – 507
White – 481
Gold – 436
Red – 434
Silver – 313

Men’s Handicap: 8
Women’s Handicap: 6

Hole #11

Hole #11

A tee shot aimed at the right side of the fairway is key to managing the out of bounds that runs up the left side of the par-4 11th. Take care to avoid going long on the approach shot or you risk leaving yourself a difficult up and down.

Blue – 376
White – 352
Gold – 350
Red – 349
Silver – 244

Men’s Handicap: 10
Women’s Handicap: 10

Hole #12

Hole #12

Number 12 at Jackson Valley is the easiest hole on the course. A stock shot to the middle of the green should leave players with an easy 2-putt at nearly any hole location. Avoid taking an aggressive line to a back hole location and a par should be straight forward.

Blue – 157
White – 157
Gold – 142
Red – 113
Silver – 113

Men’s Handicap: 18
Women’s Handicap: 16

Hole #13

Hole #13

A good tee shot here is a must; take aim at the driving range tee in the distance to have a chance at holding the fairway. The putting surface has many subtle breaks with most putts moving toward the driveway.

Men’s Handicap: 4
Women’s Handicap: 8

Hole #14

Hole #14

Longer hitters will have a chance to drive the green at this short par-4. Despite its simple appearance, the last 70 yards of the hole are protected by trees. Players taking too relaxed of an approach could find their way into unexpected trouble.

Blue – 306
White – 295
Gold – 292
Red – 250
Silver – 250

Men’s Handicap: 14
Women’s Handicap: 14

Hole #15

Hole #15

Locals will tell you to use the same club off the tee on #15 as you used on #12. Be sure to favor the right side of the green as tee shots to the left could easily run out of play. This is the last of the simpler holes on the course.

Blue – 163
White – 152

Silver – 99

Men’s Handicap: 16
Women’s Handicap: 18

Hole #16

Hole #16

The longest par-4 on the course is guarded by a contoured fairway with trees on either side. A pond short of the green can come into play off the tee and on your second shot. Like number 13, the approach can play shorter than the number; beware of taking too much club into the green.

Blue – 446
White – 419

Silver – 322

Men’s Handicap: 2
Women’s Handicap: 4

Hole #17

Hole #17

The final par-5 at JVGC requires two good shots to get over the stream running through the last third of the hole. The approach shot will be played on an upslope to a shallow green. Like most of the par-5 holes at Jackson Valley, a false front protects the first half of the green.

Blue – 543
White – 537

Red – 447
Silver – 408

Men’s Handicap: 6
Women’s Handicap: 2

Hole #18

Hole #18

Your tee shot on the last marks 8th time you cross Jackson Run. From the back tees, a treelined chute frames the fairway while giving you a local favorite view of the golf course. The back-to-front sloped green is the narrowest on the course. The final hole can be viewed from the Clubhouse, giving diners an excellent view of players finishing their round.
